7-Tips to make 
THANKSGIVING DINNER 
healthier & NOT "weight bait"

1- USE WHOLE GRAIN STUFFING AND NO MORE BUTTER IN YOUR RECIPE. SUBSTITUTE TURKEY GRAVY FOR MOIST FLAVOR

2- USE ROLLS THAT ARE WHOLE GRAIN FOR FIBER & YOU'LL HAVE LESS BECAUSE THEY ARE MORE FILLING

3- BASTE TURKEY PRIOR TO COOKING WITH to cooking OLIVE OIL, ROSEMARY & SAGE AND SALT & PEPPER. NO MORE BUTTER.

4- "FRESH" Steamed Green Beans (ELIMINATE THE CALORIE FAT LADDEN GREEN BEAN CASSEROLE) TOPPED WITH 4 SLICES OF BACON & CRUMBLED (NO BACON GREASE) 

5- FRESH FROZEN SWEET CORN ADDED TO YOUR STUFFING RECIPE WORKS TO KEEP THIS THANKSGIVING FAVORITE ON THE MENU

6- MASHED POTATOES WITHOUT THE SOUR CREAM AND USE LESS BUTTER. IF YOU USE RED NEW POTATOES LEAVE THE SKIN ON, ADD ROSEMARY, SALT AND PEPPER, FOR A GOURMET LOOK AND TASTE.

7- DRINK 12-oz WATER 30 MINUTES BEFORE DINNER - NOT ANY CLOSER TO YOUR MEAL. AND OPT FOR ICED WATER WITH A LEMON SLICE OR FEW DROPS OF LEMON ESSENTIAL OIL DURING YOUR MEAL.

I AM A BIG BELIEVER IN "PRESENTATION" SO I GARNISH MY TURKEY WITH PARSLEY, CRABAPPLES AND ORANGE SLICES. I MAKE MY OWN CRANBERRY SAUCE WITH A LOT LESS SUGAR AND SOMETIMES I ADD ORANGES THAT ARE SLICED AND DICED. DID I EVEN MENTION THAT I LOVE TO COOK?

I HAVE MADE THESE SMALL CHANGES OUT OF RESPECT FOR INDIVIDUALS IN MY FAMILY WITH DIABETES AND HEART DISEASE. AND FOR "ME" SO I CAN AVOID THESE HEREDITARY HAND-ME-DOWN HEALTH ISSUES. 

I NEVER WORRY ABOUT DESSERT IT'S ALWAYS ONE SLICE OF PUMPKIN PIE AND I JUST ENJOY IT WITH A SMALL DROP OF COOL WHIP INSTEAD OF WHIPPED CREAM. 

PLUS IT'S ABOUT ENJOYING A MEAL WITH FAMILY AND/OR FRIENDS AND BEING THANKFUL. 

TRY TO FIT IN AS LITTLE AS A 15-30 MIN WALK BEFORE DINNER IF POSSIBLE - IT WILL BOOST YOUR METABOLISM WHICH WILL HELP YOU BURN MORE OF YOUR THANKSGIVING DINNER OFF ALL DAY LONG
