HAIR LOSS: CAUSES 'N CURE

SOMETIMES HAIR IS THERE & SOMETIMES IT'S NOT

We might not want THIS much hair and
THIS guy is a flash back from the past!
And it was once an "IN" style.
Anyone remember that?

 Time to get serious......
The hair loss issue is actually experienced by men AND women. Normally we loose about 50-100 hairs a day but with about 100,000 hairs it shouldn't cause noticeable thinning of the scalp. As we age we gradually have thinner hair. Other causes of hair loss include hormonal factors, medical conditions and medications.

MEDICAL CONDITIONS AFFECTING HAIR LOSS:
HEREDITARY FACTORS:  can start as early as puberty for both men and women.
MEDICAL CONDITIONS: Thyroid problems, Alopecia Areata (low immune system attacking hair follicles) causing smooth, roundish patches of hair loss (another reason to keep your immune system high).
SCALP INFECTIONS: Like Ringworm but once treated the hair usually grows back. HORMONAL: changes & imbalances can cause temporary hair loss: pregnancy, childbirth, stopping birth control pills or the onset of menopause.
MEDICATIONS: CAN BE CAUSED BY DRUGS,
USED TO TREAT Cancer, Arthritis, Depression, Heart Problems, & High Blood Pressure

OTHER CAUSES OF HAIR LOSS:  EMOTIONAL SHOCK, HAIR-PULLING DISORDER, CERTAIN HAIRSTYLES (when hair is pulled like pigtails or hair pulled too tightly into a style). And it "can" even prevent hair growth for a child whose hair is pulled too tightly every day.
RISK FACTORS:
FAMILY HISTORY, HAIR TREATMENTS (wrong coloring treatments)POOR NUTRITION (usually with unbalanced diet or crash dieting or eating disorders).
