SLEEPING ISN'T ALWAYS EASY

GETTING MORE Zzzzzzz s

For some people sleeping is a huge issue.
My new friend, Ruth, talked to me about her lack-of-sleep issue and what could essential oils do for her that they haven't done before.  Sometimes sleep is not as easy as it may seem.  If that's your issue I'd like to talk about sleep.
Some people can sleep anywhere!  Like this picture of 4 year old grandsons, Mark & Sam, when I power walked to the park for some fun for them and exercise for me.  When I stopped for a sec they were fast asleep! I had only walked about a mile at this point and thought it would be fun to go on a nature hunt.
They had other plans and it was all about sawing Zzzzzzzzs
But for others sleep does not come that easy.  There can be so many reasons.  Drinking too many caffeinated products after 3 in the afternoon can be one issue. I have learned I can't drink them at all because they really hype me up. Not drinking enough water can make our bodies over tired and unable to sleep. Drink half as many ounces of water as the number of pounds you weigh: is the right amount of water. Sounds crazy but it's true. Another is taking a too LONG of a nap during the day or too late in the day might just topple your sleep patterns.  Not getting enough exercise can also turn your sleep moments into on-and-off-non-rem-sleep nights.  Or exercising within 3-hours of bed time isn't good either.  Eating too late in the day or too heavy a meal too late in the day can throw off the "readiness-for-sleep" hour.
We have A LOT of technology these days and keeping that going too close to bed time can keep your brain lights on and your rest cycle off.  The light from TV, cell phones, computers, and even some tablets made for reading can keep the serotonin in your brain active and prevent you from sleep readiness.  That prevents the melatonin from helping you decompress and make you sleepy.

When I really want a good night's sleep I make sure all electronics are off by 8pm.  I dim the room, take a bath with Lavender Oil during candlelight and use some deep breathing.

After a good night's rest I can think more clearly the next day. I can more easily accomplish the daily tasks of the next day.

Hopefully I can look as wide eyed as one of the grandsons in the family, Warner, who will be four years old in December:
Warner is one of the kindest people I know.  He is always ready for a good game of throwing, kicking or hitting a ball.  He is alert, cheerful, smart, and I like to think one of the reason is it's because he gets the right amount of sleep from the good parenting he receives.

Using Lavender Oil can be a "part" of your routine for the goal of getting the right amount of sleep.  It's a little plant with a relaxing aroma that helps your brain to build melatonin.

It can be placed on the bottom on your feet, wrists, sides of neck or base of your brain stem with or without a carrier oil. You can also use it in a defuser to help you stay asleep.

And you can order it right from Spark Naturals
